German award «GERMAN TOTAL BADGE OF HONOR»

History of the badge. During the rule of Hitler’s word Gau meant Party County of Germany and heads of regional offices of the NSDAP were called Gauleiter. Over time, more and more Gau converted from units of the party administration of the territory into the administrative and economic ones. There were originally founded 38 Gau in Germany. Subsequently, their number has increased.

KNIGHT’S CROSS OF THE IRON CROSS

History of the award. Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross (German. Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes) is another Second World War award. It was a degree of the Military Order of the Iron Cross, the highest order of the Third Reich, the recognition of bravery in battle or success in guiding the troops during World War II. It was introduced on September 1, 1939 with the restoration of the Order of the Iron Cross. It had five degrees. It was the common fact the Knight’s Cross was awarded to 7365 people.
